The quilt winner is Nick C. of Newport News holding ticket #610217 Congratulations Nick!! I understand that he will be giving the quilt to his great grandson who recently arrived in the world. TAKE A CHANCE – HELP OUR DOBES! THE RAFFLE DRAWING FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL QUILT WILL BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 15, 2014. WE REALLY NEED HELP SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS! This quilt has colorful butterflies appliqued onto muslin with a buttonhole stitch using black thread and nicely quilted in a fan design. It has two turquoise inner borders and the outer border and binding are in purple. It measures 86 inches by 74 inches. The top is thought to have been made in the 30's or 40's by the late Mrs. Frank Liske of Concord, NC, but it was not quilted until about 22 years ago, by the late Mrs. Wilda Davis. The quilt has only been used for display purposes and never washed.
