TRAX IS BAX

Dear Trax has had some tragedy his young life.  He came to us as one of a quartet of Dobermans who had been owned and loved by a young man that had little in his life left that loved him.

He turned to his four Dobermans for the love and acceptance he could not seem to find in a world of humans.  He took them into his home, where his beloved four-legged friends slept on the too-small bed while he chose to sleep on the floor rather than to leave any one of them out.

The young man was the victim of violence one night and the four Dobermans were exposed to the very worst in the human animal. The young man was killed, and his loving companions cried outside the home until good people saw to it that they all went to DRT.  Trax arrived disoriented and confused.  His previously stable and secure world had dissolved before his eyes, and he honestly did not know whom to trust or what to think.

Thankfully, as she does so well, Carol gained his trust in short order, and he was soon walking on a leash and behaving like a Doberman with a friend again.  He adapted rapidly to the routine at DRT and truly enjoyed having the companionship of humans once more.

After starting his healing with us, Trax was placed in a new temporary home where he transitioned from sleeping on the bed to sleeping on his own dog bed on the floor beside the bed.  He had the benefit of a large yard which he used to full advantage for his daily exercise.  Also while there he proved his ability to play well with the large family female dog. adapt to an underground fence and doggy door.  Now he has returned to DRT to await a new forever home.

Trax did nothing to deserve the trauma he has been through, but with wonderful resilience, he is a cheerful dog who is eager to gain the affection of a new human family.

He has always been an inside Doberman and is of course mannerly and house trained.  He is grateful to have humans to connect with and is surely looking forward to a time when he can have a family of his own again.

He is a wonderful find for someone looking for a family pet who understands living in a house and living with loving humans.  For all its heartache, this cloud will surely have a silver lining.  This is your opportunity to be that wonderful soul that turns Trax's pain into joy and misery into happiness.

Come; give him a chance.  Heal, and be healed in the bargain.
