And to (the) Republic
Did anyone else notice the spike in DWH (Dobers without homes) as we approach the holiday?
Here is a glorious boy named Republic. Although he may put you in mind of a Weimaraner (not that there’s anything wrong with that), he’s definitely purebred Dobie.
His former family had to relocate (here we go again) so they left him with a friend of the family. I guess the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak, because while thefamily friend took him in, Republic ended up much like Rampart (one of our boys in another profile) - home alone with someone coming by once a day to feed and water him.
Now the simple truth is, there’s hardly a breed alive that is content alone, and it seems as though Dobies especially need their humans to be complete. Republic is no exception.
The good news is, he’s a sweet, gentle, loving boy who gets along with dogs large and small (he even used to live with a Min Pin) and is at ease with kids, too. Even though he's good-sized, he’s very agreeable and easy to handle, and he knows and responds properly to the basic "sit," "lie," and "heel" commands. Then there's that Dobergrin - many of them have it, all are a joy to see, but he stands out with a beautiful grin that seems to go from ear to ear.
We pledge allegiance to our flag and to the Republic for which it stands, and properly so. Our Doberboy is hoping that you can pledge allegiance to another Republic, too - the four-legged, Doberman kind. He’ll pledge his allegiance in return. Sounds like liberty and justice for all, to me.
