What a lovely lovely Dobergirl this one is - a total beauty inside and out.  She came to us from a young woman who had two Dobers.  She was moving into an apartment and decided two were one too many, especially since the two Dobers weren't getting along.  So she chose to keep the other and to surrender this one.

This Dobie should probably be with an experienced Dober owner simply because she’s big and strong and energetic.  That having been said, she listens well and is eager to obey.  Her one flaw, if we had to call it that, is that she is very reactive around dogs that are not neutral in their approach to her.  If they show any attitude at all, she’ll try to dominate.  While she likes to come across as a rough, tough mama, the fact is she's really a sweetheart. For instance, she barked at all the dogs here when she first arrived, testing them to see if they would challenge her.  After getting no response from any of them, she doesn’t do it anymore.  Lots of bluster with this one, I’d say.

Here’s how her former owner describes her:

•    She is truly happy being in the presence of humans and is the sweetest girl.
•    She loves to cuddle.
•    Not one to want to go out and stay in the yard (by herself).
•    She is the sweetest cuddler and so intelligent.
•    Would do well in a home with no other dogs.
•    My heart is broken (at not being able to keep her).

Our volunteers have shared these observations, as well:

"Vada is a sweet, pretty girl.  She loves attention!  She also seems to be really observant of her surroundings, which I find appealing in a dog.  She was great for her bath, remaining alert throughout, as though to notice if anything might sneak up on us."

"Vada is a sweet playful girl!  Her quirky ear gives her personality plus!"

"Vada is an absolutely beautiful girl with a cute and fun personality! I love her little floppy ear, and I think it just fits her so well! She is filled with a desire to be loved, and she will cuddle with you and be by your side as much as you want! Truly a sweet pea!"

By all indications, this is an exceptional Dobergirl who simply needs to be in a home without other dogs.  If you have such a home and think she may be the one for you, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what an outstanding girl she is.
