This gorgeous young Dobergirl came to us after being surrendered to a shelter by an owner who didn’t know how to manage her and apparently gave up in exasperation.

On the one hand, I’m sympathetic to people who are so taken by the looks and qualities of a Doberman that they are irresistibly drawn to them. That’s certainly been so for me since I was a kid. On the other hand, and this is the more important hand, one must always be prepared for the unpredictability, boundless energy, and general mayhem that are part and parcel of raising a pup. Good-natured and playful though she is, apparently she had too much puppy energy and enthusiasm for the available time and experience of her owner. Thankfully the decision was made to surrender her and she has come to Elijah’s House on the way to a new, forever home.

Upon intake and examination, it was discovered she had slight fungal infection on her nose, but that's been resolved. Our best guess is that perhaps she was penned up outside and spent time trying to escape the pen.  Since being with us, no such attempts have been made, and she is doing very well with the time and attention we give her.  Being young and basically untrained, she needs a little leash work and additional training, but she does know to "sit" for treats. No surprises there!

One of our volunteers who has had the chance to work with her so far, shares this comment:

“Dazzle is simply stunning with her deep blue coat.  A little training and folks will be greatly rewarded!”

From everything I can tell, this is a beautiful, intelligent Doberkid who is eager to learn and be trained.  By definition, Dobermans are a working breed. If you don’t have the time to pay them enough attention, give them enough exercise, and challenge their keen minds, they will plague you until you do!  But if you raise them properly, there’s just no more loyal, loving companion than these. (Is my bias showing?)

So if you’re looking for a young Dober who’s pretty well perfect and ready to be made into a superior adult and life companion, make an appointment to meet this lovely girl once your application is approved, and come see if she may be a fit for your home. I am fully confident if you do, she’s bound to dazzle you, too.
