This beautiful young Doberboy is bursting with energy and ready for companionship and training.

He’s our first "Hurricane Harvey" Dobe, having come to us from a displaced Texas family that ended up in North Carolina.  His loving owner couldn't leave his beloved Doberman behind and brought him along, knowing there would be a safe and loving new home for him here as the family moved on in dealing with their loss and transition.  Thankfully he found DRT, and Kipling is now at Elijah’s House as he awaits that new family and home.

He is indeed a beautiful, outgoing Dobe with a unique feature in the form of a “cowlick” that runs the length of his nose.  It’s hilarious, yet doesn’t distract from his handsome appearance.  Mama Carol is especially enamored with it.

Being still a pup, and having gone through so many changes in recent weeks, he doesn't stay still for a minute and is in need of the stable influence of a loving home once more.  He’s very strong on leash and will need training with that and every other way a puppy would need.  (Well, he’s housebroken - that hurdle thankfully was crossed when we got him!)  The simple fact is, he’s very puppyish; it’s how puppies are. :-)

Here’s a sampling of what our volunteers have to say about him:

“Kipling seems to like water and tried to eat it as I poured it into his bowl!  A water lover is always fun.  Keep in mind he’s a typical pup in need of training.”

“Kipling is a great Doberman pup - smart, energetic, and very playful!  He needs some training as all youngsters do.  He’ll most certainly make someone a great Doberman companion!”

He’s a bundle of crazy puppy energy!  That being said he is only a puppy and a very handsome one at that!”

“I think he’s just wound up from being indoors and enduring a lot of change.  As we were walking him, he was picking up on correction pretty quickly with the volunteers.  Also, I found if I just stand and wait for him to get all the energy out when he’s first on the leash (it does take 2-5 minutes lol!) he calms down a bit and is better on the leash.  He is really strong and probably just needs some exercise before beginning training so he can pay attention because he appears to be pretty smart.”

I think you get the picture.  This is an outstanding young one who will surely mature into a fabulous adult.  But at this time he needs the patient, loving guidance of a family who will give him enough exercise for his age and who will work with training him in becoming the fabulous adult he will be.

If you think you may be that family, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved and come spend some time with this good-natured, bright, bundle of energy.  I’m guessing he may joyfully wiggle his way into your hearts if you do
