This handsome young Doberboy came to us from a home where he and the chickens were in competition and (not surprisingly) the chickens lost.  (That’s also how one of my best and longest-lived Dobers came to me years ago.)  If it weren’t for this fact, this fellow could have stayed in his home for a lifetime.  He was well-loved and cared for and very sweet with the family, just not the chickens.  It’s safe to say this one should go to a home where there are no farm animals to chase.

His former owner reports that he enjoys walks (
he's good on a leash) and being outside with his humans, temperature permitting. (Apparently he’s not a fan of really hot or cold days and prefers staying in the A/C or warmth in the house!)

His former dad says: “He is a very sweet dog when he is with us (as opposed to the chickens) and good with our children.  He deserves a great home and a family that will love him.”

Our volunteers have also weighed in with their observations:

“Rocky is a gentle Doberman who is eager to please and can be responsive to goings on around him.  For instance, this morning I hollered at Junius to stop barking and Rocky was a little disconcerted.”

“Rockwell is a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he will take all the attention you can give.  He was good on a leash and was friendly when walking with Ivanka.”

Rocky is a cutie and will really look great once he fills out some.  He seems a bit shy and unsure at first, but when I knelt down in his run and told him it was OK, he sniffed me a few times and seemed to enjoy the affection.  I've always had a soft spot for the blue boys and can't wait to see him come out of his shell!  He also walks well on the leash which is obviously a plus.”

“He’s a beautiful little blue guy and seems sweet tempered!”

“This precious boy has such soulful and loving eyes!  That's the first thing I noticed and also what drew me in.  He can be a little shy at first and has a calm, gentle demeanor; but he also enjoys playing and being outside.”

He sounds like a lovely, tenderhearted, agreeable fellow to me.  If he’s captivated your interest, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come see for yourself if he’s the right match for your family.
