Here’s a beautiful, mischievous, energetic, playful young Dobergirl just brimming with good will and eagerness to be involved with whatever is going on.

She came from a loving home with a young woman who concluded that, as much as she loved the dog she did not have the time required to meet her needs by herself.  She did some good training with her, but in the end she made that always-painful decision to surrender her for placement in a home where the owners would have the time to devote to this intelligent and energetic Dobergirl.

As for commands and learned behaviors, she knows to respond to the following: “Sit, “Spin,” “Catch,” “Treats,” “Lay down,” “Paw, and “Wait.”   She also will jiggle the door knob when she needs to go outside, and since coming to Elijah’s House, she's mastered the opening of door levers and gate locks and even climbing the gates!  I think the most important thing this girl can have is lots of companionship and exercise.

Her former mom told us the following things about her: She’s a huge cuddler; in the evening (usually around 9pm) she gets very sweet and tired.  She loves the snow, sleeping in bed, and coconut oil drizzled on her food.  She loves car rides, chewing on rawhides and knuckle bones, and shredding large rope toys.  She’ll even open her own Christmas presents!

Since she’s been with us, we’ve learned that she also gives hugs!  Here’s what one of our volunteers has to say about her:

“She really is a great girl who should find a forever home soon.  If I could, I’dd take her home since she's won me over the same way as my Doberboy, with a hug.”

She's a little cautious when meeting new people, especially men, and will bark, initially, but then warms up.  She’s great with other dogs.  She totally loves the dog park and encourages other dogs to play.  Her best friend there was a Corgi.  The other morning here at Elijah’s House, she even opened up the gate and was found playing with big old Rodney!

So if you have the time to devote to this lovely girl, make an appointment to meet her and see for yourself what a treasure she is.  I’m confident she’ll be delighted to go home with a family who will be able to make her a constant part of their activities.
