How terrific is this handsome big pup of a Doberboy!  Only six months old, he has a presence that belies his youthfulness and is just plain handsome to boot.

He came to us from an older couple whose love and desire for a Doberpup exceeded the reality of their circumstances.  Their health needs, in combination with his youthfulness and natural need for lots of exercise and proper training, proved to be too much for them, and they have surrendered him to DRT to the advantage of all concerned.

His biggest need right now (as with most any puppy) is for lots of exercise and freedom to run.  After being with the older couple and not having had much of an opportunity to do so, he’s in nirvana running in our fields.

As with any puppy, his boundless energy and youthful enthusiasm need to be nurtured and trained and directed into a properly finished adult over the next few months, and his new family will want to plan on working with him consistently, either at home or in a group class/setting.

I’ve seen pups as young as three-month who were calm and disciplined and obedient because they had been trained gently and properly from the beginning.  This boy will be no different with the advantage of proper training.  Dobers are by nature very eager to please, and this boy will be no exception.

Comments from our volunteers who are working directly with Cobalt affirm these points:

“Cobalt is an energetic and extremely handsome blue boy whose looks and charm will pull you in!  Even with his puppy-like enthusiasm, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well he walked on lead and listened!  He will definitely need lots of room to run and play, as any young boy would, but he settles down very nicely after play time and appreciates attention and love more than anything!  No doubt, you will fall head over heels for this sweet guy!”

“A good dose of energy and love comes with this young man.  Beautiful coat!  A real sweetheart that will make a loving companion and a true friend to the person lucky enough to give him a forever home.”

“A puppy he is; great coat, full of love, and full of energy!”

You can see what potential there is in this ready-to-be-finished, handsome, loving pup.  If you are interested in helping him become the terrific adult he will soon be, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come see for yourself how he’s everything we’ve said, and more.  Make him a part of your family, and if it isn’t already, cobalt is sure to become your favorite color!
