Now to be perfectly honest, I'm not much of a fan of caramel in its contemporary iterations. Give me a good hot fudge (made with sugar, NOT high fructose corn syrup) any day. There was one friend years ago who made her caramel from scratch and that was to die for, but other than that, I can take it or leave it.
But our girl Caramel is another story. She's a sweetie who was brought to us by rescue angels after she was found as a stray. As is the case with most strays, she's on the thin side. Once Mamma Carla (Italian for Carol) plies her with delicacies for a few weeks, that problem will be amply resolved.
Not surprisingly, given the unknown odyssey that she has been on most recently, she is a bit timid in meeting initially, but there's every good reason to think that this is the necessary result of her having been on her own for a bit. After the brief initial hesitancy, her natural Dober desire for human association takes over and she warms quickly.
She loves to go in the car and jumps in and out of the SUV without a problem, and she is a beautiful dark fawn with very expressive eyes.
As you look at her pictures, you can see what a beauty she is. While she may look a bit sober at the moment, once she adjusts to the loving and supportive environment at Elijah's House, her confidence will be back and her natural Dober joy will shine through so as to match her physical beauty.
Now back to the caramel theme. If you're a lover of caramel, you know that as good as ice cream is, caramel makes it better. Maybe you're life is pretty good right now, but I guarantee you that there's a better treat in store for you if you add a little Caramel. And if things aren't so good right now, Caramel might just make the perfect comfort food for your soul, with no calories!
Come by and meet her. Spend a little time with her and see if I'm not right.
Mille grazie.
