Calling a Clan for Calleigh

I suppose that in an ideal world, DRT wouldn't exist.  There'd be no need for our services.  All dogs would have loving, forever homes where their needs were met and their humans' lives were richer for having them.  This is not an ideal world.

Take dear Calleigh, for instance.

When she was young, Calleigh was rescued from deplorable circumstances.  Her new (first, really) family took her in, gave her plenty of love, good food, and care, provided her with her own bed in the house, played with her (adult and child alike), and simply made her a full-time, much-loved member of the family.

Sadly, as is so often the case in recent times, this loving family's circumstances changed and they were forced to relocate.  Despite their best efforts and much to their grief, they were unable to find housing that would accommodate a non-human family member, so they did the next best thing and placed her with DRT until her new family takes her home.

After a brief stay at Elijah's House, Calleigh was adopted by a new family as a companion for themselves and for a miniature Dachshund who, due to health reasons, is unable to walk.  Now, after only a couple of months, Calleigh is coming back to DRT.  While her new family loved her and she was an excellent dog - in their words, "She is a very sweet dog and is very well mannered in the house and we feel that with both of us working, we cannot give her the attention and exercise that she needs" -  it's probably not unreasonable to say that there's quite a difference between their small, much-loved-but-inactive Dachshund and even a small, energetic, active Dobergirl like Calleigh.  And so she comes to a temporary loving home with us once more in the hopes that her next adoption will truly be a forever one - she certainly deserves it.

Calleigh is a lovely, petite, little girl.  Her thick blue coat is so dark it's almost black.  She is positively regal on a leash, and of course is clean, neat, and obedient.  While not having them as part of her family, she has proved to be at ease around both cats and dogs.

Those with the name of Calleigh are thought to be joyous and playful.  Calleigh longs to be at home again and to share her joy and playfulness with a family once more.

Perhaps you've been through some sadness, or perhaps you simply want to share your love with someone dearly in need of being loved.  Either way, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better friend that Calleigh.
