What is there to recommend you, Bacchus? What are your habits and what are your needs? Are you safe inside that skin? Do you enjoy being in a crowd of new people, and do you feel secure while you meet them all? Have you made up your mind (perhaps long ago) that humans are the most wonderful thing in your life, and that being with them and experiencing life with them is the greatest calling available to you? Bacchus, how can we convince people who come to visit that you have a heart of purest gold and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that matters more than finding that perfect family with which to life a future of contentment?
Bacchus originally came to DRT because a couple who loved him very much, decided that they weren't happy together anymore. Neither could provide adequate attention and care for him, and they were responsible enough to seek the help of a rescue group. Bacchus has been well treated in his youth and has come to us with a good attitude and outlook. In short, his beginnings have been ideal and he is very committed to humans and wants, ever so much, to be a part of a family again. He found a new home with a wonderful family for three short months and now the same experience has repeated itself. His second family, unfortunately, is going to divorce.
He is alert and energetic and his mood is consistently a happy mood. He isn't shy and appears confident with other dogs. He has not had experience with cats, but does not appear aggressive toward them. He delights in spotting one crossing the lawn and rushing out with an invitation to play (deep bows). The cat is usually so put off by the sudden appearance of this large dog that the game never gets a chance to develop. Still, his playful mood is reflected in his invitation rather than a scary rush.
Bacchus can sit on command and appears ready to learn a lot more if the family has time to teach. This is a smart Doberboy, and a good guy who will bond quickly because he has always been loved and respected. He has no reason to expect anything but kindness from his master.
Come by and take a look at this handsome red Doberboy. He needs a family, and the sooner he has one the better. I predict that Bacchus will find a good home very soon.... maybe yours?
