I cannot remember if I told you we have a dog here that has been with us for 2 years now. We came to know him because he was hit by a car near by. The neighbor called animal control and they came and got him. Personally, I thought it was a miracle he was still alive after the hit. I asked the animal control officer who came and picked him up about what was going to happen to him. He said he would be given antibiotics and they would wait for 3 days to see if someone called about him. I called on the third day to see if anyone had – they hadn’t. He was due to be put down the next day. I told them I would come and get him that Friday. I believed he deserved a new lease on life after surviving the accident with really no injuries to speak off.
We did this in hopes of possibly finding his owner. We have had no luck. Jack is a great dog but needs to be in a home where he is the only dog or if there is a female dog. He absolutely cannot be around cats. He is great with the kids, is house & crate trained. He knows basic commands – sit, stay, down, come. He is also very good on a leash and loves to go for car rides. Someone obviously put some time in with him. It has been a very hard decision to make but we need to find him a permanent home. I am hoping you can offer some advice on how to do that. I would have a terrible time forgiving myself if he went to someone who would not treat him well.
